Welcome back….

Hello everyone and welcome back after half term!!

We are now into the second part of our spring term and there is already lots going on. We ended last week with a fantastic Marvellous Middle Exhibition in the hall all afternoon. It was great to see lots of parents and family and friends there to celebrate the children’s learning and creativity! The projects were superb as usual and we loved seeing everyone taking part. The children will be able to take home their creations next week.

Our Dinosaur learning continues this half term and we shall also be learning about traditional tales and information texts in Literacy. Our Science topic is all about changing materials and how materials are used for making different things.

Swimming continues every Friday and we also still have our sports coach joining us every Wednesday afternoon.

Please continue to use the home learning sheet of activities this half term, and get ready for a new one related to our Summer topic after Easter.

This week we will be celebrating World Book Day on Thursday, so we would love the children to dress up as their favourite book character for the day.

We shall also be visiting the library again on Monday 10th March so please bring in your library cards.

We look forward to another brilliant half term, thank you for all of your support at home.

This weeks Good Learners are Ayden for challenging himself and managing his distractions and HannahT for using our stuck display to help her to be a more independent learner! Super learning skills!

We are really loving all of the amazing home learning that the children are bringing in, remember, if you bring in some home learning every week then you will get a dinosaur prize at the end of term!

Happy New Year!!

Well, what a week back we have had!! Our new topic ‘Dinosaurs’ is well underway and to start it with a bang, we went on a stunning start trip today to the cinema to watch ‘walking with dinosaurs’ 3D, scary stuff!! The children set a wonderful example of Kitwell Primary School and we were very proud of them.
This week we also introduced our new Home Learning Scheme, thank you to all of the parents who attended the meeting, we hope this new approach to home learning will be creative and enjoyable for the children and for you! If you have anymore questions about this then please come and ask me.
We ended our first week back with a superb Good Learning Assembly. This week Teion was chosen for his brilliant perseverance and progress in Numeracy. Well done to Dayna who was chosen for her super writing and interesting sentences.

Happy Half Term……

Well done to all the children for such a wonderful half term in Class 2!! We have really enjoyed getting to know you all and feel that there has been some amazing learning taking place!!

We have now reached the Marvellous Middle of our Fighting Fit topic so to celebrate this the children have been given some exciting home learning to do over half term.
The first project they could do is to make a new trainer to encourage children to keep fit and exercise!!!
The second task they could choose is to make a miniature hospital out of junk, but instead of a Mary Seacole style hospital, this one needs to be a modern hospital!

Please bring your chosen task in by Friday 8th November for our exhibition!! We will choose a winner from each task!! Good Luck!

Well done to Sariyah for being chosen for Good Work assembly this week for her improved listening and for her superb handwriting.
Another well done to Vadonyay for his super Numeracy learning this week, Vadonyay has been adding and subtracting 10 from 2 digit numbers independently!

Have a great half term week everyone,
Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Neale.
