Class 2’s learning superstars….

Congratulations to Kian, Alfie and Summer for being chosen for Praise assembly this week!!

Kian is really improving his listening skills and is becoming absorbed in his learning. He is learning so much more because he is using more of his learning muscles.

Alfie has completed some amazing home learning this week! He has chosen flags using thirds and he has created a symmetrical rangoli pattern.

We welcomed Summer to class 2 this week and congratulate her for her super listening and perseverance!!

Well done to all the children for their continued enthusiasm for their learning and for a very successful week at swimming.

Thank you to the parents and carers for their continued support.

Welcome to Class 2….

Hello everyone!!

Welcome to a new school year and welcome to class 2!! We are really looking forward to a fantastic Autumn Term in class 2 with lots of exciting events and learning happening. We kick started our new topic, ‘Pioneers’, with a stunning start day last Friday. The children made some fantastic time machines out of junk which we shall use to travel back in time to discover more about famous pioneers.

We hope you have all received this terms learning newsletter so that you are all aware of the learning that the children will be doing in class. We have started P.E lessons every Thursday and Friday and we are having special singing lessons every Wednesday afternoon. The children have also received their home learning grids, so they can now begin to bring in their learning to put in their folders at school. We will be sharing their learning every Friday.

The children now know their reading book days, but please make sure they have their book bags every day as we would like to hear them read as much as possible during the week.

Please feel able to come to speak to either myself or Miss Neale at the door in the morning if you need to know any more information about life in class 2!

Thank you for your support,

Mrs Kirk

Class 2 update…..

Hello everyone!!

Just a quick update on what’s happening in class 2 at the moment!

First of all, thank you so much to all the Dads/Grandads, that came to join us on Friday afternoon. The Australian artwork was fantastic and the children loved having you there!

On Monday we shall be beginning a fantastic fun week to celebrate Sports Week so the children will be able to wear sports clothing all week so they can join in with all the activities.
We shall be taking part in yoga, dance and sports day activities and we will also be learning about having a healthy lifestyle and healthy eating.
A reminder that sports day is on Thursday at 9.30 until 10.30 on the field!

We are very excited for this week and we hope everyone enjoys it!

See you all soon
Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Neale

This week’s Good Learners…..

Well done to Hannah C for being chosen for your understanding that it is important to make mistakes so we can become better learners. Hannah is learning so much more by realising how she can get better!! Super Hannah!!

We have also chosen Harvey for his amazing progress in Numeracy. Harvey takes on new challenges with a calm attitude and he perseveres until he has reached the answer! Brilliant learning Harvey!!

Remember we are at the library on Monday so bring in your books and library cards please.

We look forward to seeing you all at parents evenings next week!

Thank you all for your lovely cards, flowers, cakes and kind words for Miss Neale’s birthday, she was really touched by your kindness!

Good Learners in Class 2…

Well, what an exciting week, which ended on Friday with a very fun but exhausting day of swimming and running to raise money for Sport Relief!! Well done to all the children who took part with such enthusiasm.

This weeks good learners are Ranvijay and Daniel.
Ranvijay has been trying so very hard to be an independent learner and he has produced some fantastic pieces of writing and story telling.
Daniel is really concentrating on his handwriting and sentence structure at the moment. He is making great progress by remembering capital letters and using connectives!
Well Done boys!

We look forward to another busy week in Class 2!!
Keep reading at home and bringing in your super home learning tasks.

Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Neale

Good learning this week…..

Well Done to Katie and Emily for being chosen for Good Learning assembly this week.
Katie has been trying very hard to improve her handwriting and sentences, she has written a superb paragraph about Cinderella using some exciting words.
Emily has been persevering to complete her tricky numeracy problems this week. She has used her linking skills to remember how to solve different problems.
Next week we shall be visiting King Edwards Five Ways School to attend a music workshop on Wednesday afternoon and on Friday we will all be dressing up as sports people to take part in the Sports Relief Mile!!

We have seen some brilliant pieces of Home Learning this week, well done everyone!

We are looking forward to an exciting week next week,
Miss Fitzgerald and Miss Neale
